When you live in the Metropolitan Detroit-area, you learn to look for beauty among the rubble, you find possibilities amid obstacles, and you learn how to get things done. The mural you see on my page is a reflection of that.
Artist Katherine Craig bravely climbed a vacant building to create beauty among the blight. Her bold move, along with the popular t-shirt, "Detroit Hustles Harder," capsulize the spirit of the City and many of its people.
And while our region and state have certainly had well-publicized, and unfortunately, ongoing troubles, I believe we all can agree Detroit still knows how to put the rest of the country and much of the world on some very, very nice wheels. (The Mustang, the Corvette, the Chrysler 300 etc).
Yet, cars aren't the only things we make to keep America and much of the world moving. Detroit's Motown music continues to impress young and old far and wide. But beyond the timeless Motown Sound, the City has made significant strides in advancing the musical genres of gospel, jazz, punk, rap, and in introducing Techno music. Today's Techno like yesterday's Motown, captures the rhythm and constant energy of the auto assembly line.
It is this very same Motor City Spirit--one dedicated to productivity, joy where you can find it, and creativity--that propels me to guide teams, organizations, and small businesses to deliver impactful communications pieces.
I invite you to review my resume and online writing portfolio, and I would welcome the chance to connect with you about how my work and experience can advance internal communications goals.
I thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kelly Spencer
